How A Dream Became A Safe Place For Men To Speak And Heal w/ Kevin Curry Sr.
A simple room, a shared meal, and an open floor can change a life. That’s the heartbeat of our conversation with Kevin Curry Sr., the force behind Building Brothers Up—a grassroots gathering where men of all ages speak honestly about depression, loss, marriage strain, and the pressure to “be tough.” Kevin talks about receiving the vision during a difficult time and choosing action over fear, turning faith into a framework that welcomes vulnerability and builds trust.
We walk through how the meetups work—food to bring people in, clear ground rules to keep it safe, and a mic that anyone can pick up. One man’s story unlocks another, and soon the room becomes a chorus of real talk and practical support. We highlight why this matters: stigma keeps men silent, and silence can turn into crisis. A space that normalizes asking for help, sharing emotions, and standing with each other is community mental health in motion. Kevin gives the details, thanks the partners who opened their doors, and explains the cadence that keeps turnout strong without overwhelming busy lives.
Along the way we celebrate local sports—high school hoops scores, hometown athletes making waves, and a rapid-fire round of this-or-that that keeps the vibe human and warm. The sports talk, playoff picks, and laughter all serve a purpose: they make it easier to show up, stay present, and leave lighter. If you’re near Winchester, mark your calendar and bring a friend who needs a safe place to speak. If you’re listening from afar, borrow the blueprint and start something where you live. Subscribe, share this with a brother who needs it, and leave a review to help more men find their room and their voice.

What up, what up, what up, ladies and gents. Y'all know what time it is. Just got home from work. But this is this is the passion me and Tony do, man. You know, we love to talk and set a platform for other people to get on, man, and you know, speak their peace. Tell us what y'all got going on your lives. Who we got on talk about.
SPEAKER_03:Huh? So who we got on tonight? Let the people know. We're hard, we're hype about it.
SPEAKER_04:Who we got on tonight? Yeah. Y'all already know what time it is, baby. We're here for building brothers up with big bro. Well, my big bro, probably Tony's little bro, but Kevin Curry Jr. in the building tonight, man. We're excited to have him on and um help him jump re-jump start um his building brothers up that he does for the community, man. For men of all ages, man. So we're excited to get him on and talk about everything he has going on, man. Because he's a he's a blessing to the community, man. So we're excited to have him on. Right, right.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, so Chris, let me jump into local scores. I've been missing this the past couple weeks, but we'll talk about some local basketball scores here the past week.
SPEAKER_04:Alright.
SPEAKER_03:Let's see, on what was it? I remember I think it was Monday, I believe. Hanley defeated or not uh Saturday, I'm sorry, it was over the weekend. Haneley defeated Orange County 75 to 47, and Central beat Jameswood 62 to 51. And then what we had Tuesday games, we had Jameswood over Kettle Run 70 to 59, and Haneley over Brinsville 84 to 42. Then Wednesday night we had uh Hilton over Brinsville 62 to 57, and Falk here beat Orando 67 to 57. So that's a shocker. Wow. Well, and then oh, and also Millbrook lost to uh Liberty the other night.
SPEAKER_04:That could be a shocker, but why why is Falk here a shocker to James Wood? Are they not in that colour?
SPEAKER_03:I think Falkier lost some pieces. I don't think they're as good as they were last year. So upcoming games this week. You got Warren County versus Skyline tonight.
SPEAKER_04:That's tonight.
SPEAKER_03:Yep, this is tonight. James Monroe versus Meridian and Kettle Run versus Sherando. And then tomorrow night, you have Osmond Park and Brunsville, and then the big one, uh Frederick Douglass Knight, you know, Douglas Knight and Haney will be Haney and Millbrook. Everybody coming out the back. It'll be packed tomorrow night. We got Kevin ready. I think he's ready. Let's let him jump on. And everyone, welcome uh Kevin Curry.
SPEAKER_02:What's up? What's up? Can y'all hear me? Yes, sir. What's going on, fam? Hey none, what's going on?
SPEAKER_04:Glad to have you on, man. Appreciate you, big bro.
SPEAKER_02:Glad to be on, man. Glad to be on.
SPEAKER_03:So, so Kevin, I guess you know, we'll just jump right into it. Let us know about your building brothers up and you know your whole intentions and everything, your idea behind that and starting this.
SPEAKER_02:Well, building brothers up is an idea. Well, it was a dream that came to me. I had a dream, it was a vision that came to me from God because I was uh I was lost and I was in a bad place. And I was pretty much trying to figure out where I wanted to go in life. You know what I'm saying? Where was my next move? What did he have planned for me? And he gave me this vision. He gave me this vision of this uh just a meeting, a gathering of a whole bunch of men, men talking about depression and uh just different things, different things that men go through that we don't talk about, you know what I'm saying? So uh I got up the next morning and uh got on the internet and started trying to make moves and trying to see what I could do to get it started. And once I got it started, I started getting all kinds of guys from young ages, from like six years old all the way up to 70-year-old men coming. I mean, it was a it's been it's been a blessing, you know what I'm saying? So uh I'm I'm glad to keep it going. Uh looking forward to the next one, and I'm glad you guys got me on speaking on it.
SPEAKER_04:You had you had good turnouts on the first couple ones you already did too, man. People support you and they want to be a part of this, you know what I'm saying? So I know I know you're a humble guy, man, but shout out to you, bullet, for real, because my fault to people that don't know Kev. Yeah, it's all good. At the end of the day, man.
SPEAKER_02:But it's not even it's not even about me. It's all about what it's all about what God's trying to is what He's directing me to do. You know what I'm saying? He's He directed me to do this. I I couldn't do this on my own. I wouldn't, I'd be too nervous, I'd be too scared. You know what I'm saying? It's it's God putting it telling me I have to do this, is what he wants me to do. And when I when I did it, look at the turnout I got. I got 60 men, I got young kids, I got everybody coming out. So I'm trying to keep it going, trying to uh just trying to help somebody. If it's only if it helps just one person, we good. We did our thing, man. We just so many men going through so much with depression and and this mental health period. And uh, you know, just just want to be there for each other, be a be a safe, be a safe place. I want a safe place for men to be able to come and talk and speak on things going on in their life that they can't speak on at home, or or it's going, they might want to come and vent on their about their wife. Come on, ain't no what happens there stays there, right?
SPEAKER_04:And and we spoke about this a little bit last night, Kev. But you know, as men and as young boys, when we're growing up, we taught to hide our emotions, not to talk about a lot of stuff. So, this is something that I think really benefit a lot of young men or older men because we bottled so much in for so long, man. But it's good to get out there and talk about it, whether we're dealing with, like you said, a depression, like pain, health issues, like family problems, losses of people. Like it's hard to overcome certain things, and like you said, spousal and family issues, man. It all happens.
SPEAKER_02:Everything we all, I mean, we all going through something, and then uh yeah, keep it to yourself and trying to be tough, man. That ain't that ain't it no more. You know what I'm saying? We're seeing too many young people, old people taking their lives and doing stuff that we I mean, we we gotta be there for each other, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:Right, yeah, I agree. It's like our generation, of course. You know, we're we were taught be tough, don't don't cry. You know what I mean? As a man, yeah. So that's why it's good. Like you say, we should be able to show our emotions much better than do with other, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02:Other men, yeah. Because when you think you got it bad, don't believe me. There's somebody out there that's got it worse than you, man.
SPEAKER_05:So you just gotta uh worse, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:You just gotta keep going, keep going. I just want everybody to know that I mean, just keep going. Right, it's tough. The road's tough, bro.
SPEAKER_04:So your dream that you had that God brought to you, and God, that's a big inspiration and motivation for why you started this, right?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah, it was definitely God.
SPEAKER_04:It was all right for a reason, though.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, he shows I mean, he showed me because I I feel like I got a close relationship with him. You know what I'm saying? I feel like I can sit down with God and talk to him, and he he he comes through and he shows me, he gives me signs. So he he gave me a sign, he told me what I needed to do, and you know who gets in the way? Me, right?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, you're your own worst enemy, right? You know, or biggest critic, whatever, yeah. Yeah, mm-hmm. So when is the uh next meeting set up? I had it down.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, the next meeting is February 21st at uh 2249 Valor Drive. That's in Winchester, Virginia. I want to thank Andy Combs. Andy Combs for taking it uh for uh blessing me with a chance to use his facility. Uh the previous we did it with uh Mel Carmel. I want to thank Reverend Mac, uh Pastor Jane. I mean uh Deacon James Washington, Tyrus Thomas. Man, them guys were awesome, man. They let me do it the first two times, man. I was a it was a blessing to let them. They they're good guys, man. I appreciate them a lot, right? And I'm gonna appreciate Andy Combs for uh opening doors this time. Now that's a a new church, right? Yeah, I think it is. I haven't been out there yet, to be honest with you.
SPEAKER_03:So uh yeah, I think it's brand new, like it just opened a few months ago or something. Yeah, yeah. But that hey man, that that's awesome. So yeah, I I'm definitely gonna have to make it out there.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I mean, I make sure I have food for everybody. I make sure I feed the guys. Oh, I'm definitely guys come when you got food on the table. So I got food for guys. I mean, and we're gonna we're gonna have a good time. We're gonna uh we're gonna fellowship, we're gonna talk about things in life, you know.
SPEAKER_03:Right. So do you have like any guest speakers or anything?
SPEAKER_02:Like uh usually have I usually have speaks, but it's kind of like a rap session. We're gonna uh we're gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna leave it give a chance for you people to open the floor. We're gonna just you can if you want the floor, you want to tell your story and tell people what you've been through and and and uh conversation from there. We definitely we we definitely keep God in it. And uh we try to just help each other out, man. We don't judge.
SPEAKER_04:Right, and when some people start to open up and talk, it sparks other people's thoughts, and sometimes it helps them feel a little more easy to be like, all right, let me speak. I got something too.
SPEAKER_02:But yeah, I'm going through something too, man. Yeah, yeah, tough. I mean, we're all going through stuff in this in this world today, bro. It's it's tough. It's hard, it's hard to be a man, you know what I'm saying? So it's uh we gotta scratch each other's back.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. Figure speaking. So yeah, I mean, it's it's great. So like do you plan on but like a set schedule, like once a month? You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02:Uh I'ma try to I'm gonna try to I'm trying to do them like every two or three months. I mean, I don't want them so close together because uh, you know, people have a lot of things going on, and I don't want to just you know, and it just so I try to spread them out like two, three months, maybe this this time it's almost been almost a year, right?
SPEAKER_03:Good things come to those who wait, man. Yeah, hey, we've been doing this show for like five years, we ain't made no progress.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, right. Yeah, y'all been doing good, y'all doing good.
SPEAKER_04:We stay with it though, Tony. No matter what.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, y'all doing good, man. Y'all doing good, proud of you guys, man. Doing awesome, appreciate you.
SPEAKER_04:But now this is this is a big movement, Kev. Like, I'm really I'm really inspired by you doing this when I saw it last year. And like to me, the people that motivate me the most are the people I love and I know, and like people like you that do things for the community. Man, I when I saw that, I was so happy and proud of you. But like it, I wish I could have been down there for it, you know what I mean. But I know a lot of people is probably excited and happy that you're doing it, man. Because, like you said, men don't get a chance to really talk, and sometimes we we're trying to show love and be there for for our significant others, and they be like, You soft?
SPEAKER_05:I'm like, soft, they could be tough, they could be tough.
SPEAKER_04:Like, you're supposed to be my safe place, and I can't even open up to you. You'd be like, Oh, I'm I'm soft.
SPEAKER_05:Like, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, but what else you got going on though, Kev? Anything else?
SPEAKER_02:Other than that, man, nothing really, just uh just working, man. Trying to take trying to be here for my boys, man. That's it.
SPEAKER_04:That's it, man. Right. You you I can't get into everything, but you won Fouler of the Year about five, six years ago, man.
SPEAKER_02:I'm far for that. I'm far from that, man. But I just try to try to be there, man, as much as I can anyway. I want to give a shout out to my uh youngest son, Tavon though. I want to give a big shout out to him.
SPEAKER_04:There you go.
SPEAKER_02:He just got a promotion of his job, man. The boy, the boy's grown, man, and I salute him for that, man. Uh he's got a crowbar. Yeah, yeah. He's a general manager.
SPEAKER_04:That's that's what I'm saying. He's young.
SPEAKER_02:Look, get it. He's a general manager, yeah. Yeah, so I'm proud of him.
SPEAKER_03:That's that shows his mental growth. He he's a good kid. He always dash me every time I pull up in there, and always smiling.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, respectful, man. Yeah, I couldn't, I couldn't ask for nothing more, man. Uh, yeah, it's just good to have have good boy group, I've had good four boys, good, four good boys like that. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03:Right. Well, that's what you want to hear as a parent. I've always said, you know, this like as long as I hear from other people that they're respectful, and I because you know they're always getting smart with us and we don't know nothing. Yeah, as long as we hear from uh, you know, there was hey, then we did our job, you know, other people. Yep, agree. Yep. So Kevin, uh, if you don't have anything else on it, you know, you're your big um damn. I'm I'm having a brain for it.
SPEAKER_02:Building building brothers up, building brothers up, yeah, man.
SPEAKER_04:My bad, Kev. Tony be showing his age, man.
SPEAKER_03:I do for real.
SPEAKER_04:He is up, you need to go to building brothers up, Tony, because you need to get a big thing. Kevin, you're probably as old as me.
SPEAKER_03:I'm the old head, I'm the 70s, baby. Yeah, I think Bullet is too 79.
SPEAKER_02:Well, we ain't talking about that. We're talking about building brothers up.
SPEAKER_03:That's right.
SPEAKER_02:That's right.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. But hey, man, we can get into other time. You know, we'll get back to that, but we can talk uh, you know, NFL playoffs. Y'all I'm here for y'all. I'm here for you.
SPEAKER_04:Before we get into the NFL, can I jump in? What about the man in Miami, man? Oh, the yeah, the national team cursing net. No, no, like I don't know Steven like that. I've met him. Y'all set me up, make me play basketball against him.
SPEAKER_02:The boy's been a beast since day. The boy's been a beast since day one. The boy's been a beast since day one.
SPEAKER_04:I think he's Hanley's goat, and I I can't speak for everybody, man. And there's a lot of great players we've had in Hanley, but man, he he he definitely top three. He gotta be, he might be the goat, man.
SPEAKER_02:He's he's he's good up, he's good. Um it's a lot of it's a lot of it's a lot of people up, Hamley. Man, I'm not gonna put nobody as no goat because everybody's gonna have a have their opinion, you know what I'm saying? So uh but to me, the day he's a dog, I can't take nothing from him, right?
SPEAKER_04:I'm gonna just be like, how many of y'all led the country and tackles for loss and won a ring?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, right, right. I'll wait.
SPEAKER_04:Hey, but that's dope, man. Let's shout out Steven, man, for real.
SPEAKER_02:Like, Stephen, Stephen Davis, yeah, that's big.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that's fire.
SPEAKER_02:So you gotta give you gotta also give love to Jordan Miller, too. Jordan Miller out there and uh from yeah, from Lava Valley, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I'll I'll give love to Kevin Curry and Mike Brown and them because they put it on you, Jordan. Where you at?
SPEAKER_02:Nah, but Jordan was a man. Jordan was a dog. Jordan just signed for 8.3 million dollars, too.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, he was a big he's a he's balling right now, but the clippers like getting like 18, 7, 5 to 5 right now. He balling, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Big up to Jordan Miller, too.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, but I was hey, Mike Brown hit that game winning. Kevin and the man, they put it on him, they beat him at Shenandoah. I was hyped, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:But they they they they got him twice. They had them, they had to play them in Valley one time too, the year before. But Hanley won that game to get the states. Yeah, Mike Brown did some uh he did some Superman stuff that night.
SPEAKER_03:So, what you won't think about, my question. You know, what did you watch the national championship? Yeah, I'm sure you did. Chris, did you watch it? The game? Yeah. Oh, okay. So thought like what thoughts on the game.
SPEAKER_04:I knew Indiana would win, but it was closer than I expected.
SPEAKER_02:It was a it was a way better game than I thought it was gonna be.
SPEAKER_03:Uh yeah, I honestly thought it would be a bluff, but hey, Miami came to play. And the thing is, they controlled for the most part. To me, what's funny is even though it was close, it's like Indiana just still seemed like they were under control the whole game. It's how I you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_04:I you just have a bit like they just they're just controlling the game, like and we can get back into Stephen Daly in a second because I want to jump in the JMU topic with the coach Signetti, but hey, right, look at look at um Mendoza, right? He's from Miami, he went to all their football camps and everything. He asked to walk on, and they said, Nope, you ain't good enough to walk on. Well, he just beat them in the national championship with undefeated Indiana 16 and oh. Now, if that ain't the the great field story for that young man, like he's like, Yo, I'm from here, y'all gave me no chance, so I come down here and beat y'all in Miami in the national championship.
SPEAKER_02:And he's and he's a good kid, too. Right, he's a great kid.
SPEAKER_03:Did Mendoza transfer to was he a JMU or no? No, no, he wasn't at a JMU. Yeah, he he wasn't there. Okay, he wasn't one of one of the Virginia boys. But uh, my question is since you bring up Mendoza, basically, I guess once he goes pro, do y'all feel he's a game manager or a game changer? I gotta see him in the league.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I ain't yeah, I'm not taking it that far yet. I'm gonna just we're gonna keep it right.
SPEAKER_03:It's very, very true. But hey, being a game manager, ain't nothing wrong with that. As long as you protect the ball, because they're trying to say he's a system quarterback because Indiana just threw quick screens and you know a lot of stuff was made.
SPEAKER_04:Man, you do what you need to do to win. He they won every fucking every game, every game in a convincing fashion, too.
SPEAKER_03:The majority of them. I mean, smack everybody.
SPEAKER_02:But his coach, Kev, you know his coach very well. Yeah, Sigdetti, he's man, he's a great coach, man. He yeah, he uh fast, physical, and relentless. That was his that was his thing. That's what he told us. He told his players. I had to ask Kevin about him. He was like, uh, he said he liked him. He was a great coach, man. He he was about ball, he was about the ball. He he didn't play no games, right?
SPEAKER_03:And I I love his demeanor on the side. He never serves the ball, he just always looks pissed, even when they're winning about 50s like that. Yeah, you know, just straight up.
SPEAKER_02:But he has a great, he has a great offense, he has a great offensive coordinator coach that he got with him too. Mike Shanahan. He took him from JMU with him, and man, he's a he's a beast.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah. But man, like did they both recruit your son Kevin?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, Mike's, yeah, yeah, yeah. And Mike Shanahan actually came to uh uh Kevin's Millbrook Hanley game and sit sit with me. He was the offense, he's offensive coordinator, too.
SPEAKER_03:Right, nice, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:He's a beast, yeah.
SPEAKER_03:So, but like you said, then talking about being physical, and it shows in the game that they're running backs, man. Them two run like Isaiah Pacheco, that reminds me of the chief running back Pacheco, how physical they run, like every run. It's like you don't know it when they run the ball. They look, it's like they looking to hit somebody.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, Caddy's one of them's boy.
SPEAKER_03:Right, right. Yeah, I mean it and good and great for Indiana.
SPEAKER_02:Uh what I just said, whether it was uh undefeated football team, the last Indiana basketball team is the only one Steven Steven Steven better be on one of them cars come of them parade apple blossom, right? He definitely gonna be in the parade. Steven better be on one back of them cars, come apple blossom riding wave.
SPEAKER_04:There you go. He's gonna be there. Lang and Kelly and all them was in it. He definitely gonna be in there national champion, right? Yeah, and he's gonna. The league. I was about to say the sky's the limit. He's going to the league.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, he's just beginning. They just getting a piece. They ain't even seen the real Steven yet. Steven's got to really show him.
SPEAKER_03:Right, right. Yeah, man. I feel I hope we get I hope he becomes a cowboy.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_03:Well, of course, I would love to have him about Dallas. Right, right. I think we all want him. Right. And I don't buy jerseys, but if he did, I'd buy his jersey. There you go. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I'd buy his jersey if he's I ain't. I don't like Dallas.
SPEAKER_02:If he went to Dallas, I still get his jersey because that's about to say, if he if hey, if he got a commander's jersey, I can't stand the I mean I can't stand the commanders. But if Steven Daly would get one, I definitely would get that jersey.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, it's different, man. That's the home. You got to get one to show him love, man. Right, right.
SPEAKER_03:So now we talk national championship. Okay, so NFL playoff. Who do we got left? We got Seattle and the Rams. Broncos, and now Broncos lost a quarterback, too. Yeah. So okay, let's start with the Rams in Seattle. In Seattle, the 12th man. Who you think's gonna win that game?
SPEAKER_02:I got Donald. Seahawks.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, I got Seahawks too. They defense like that.
SPEAKER_03:I'm sticking with my with the Rams, our preseason pick, and they still I'm staying with them. I think Stafford, the veteran, will pull it out in their defense and step up, hopefully. I mean that Seahawks defense is nasty. But I don't know. I think the Rams are gonna pull it out. Uh so in that one. I think it'll come down, of course, at like any football game in the trenches. He wins the line of scrimmage. You know, right? And also what Seattle lost uh Chartered Charter where the starting running back. I don't know if yeah, he got hurt uh last week, like ACL or something. So they're they got Kenneth Walker.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_03:So still he was still good, but I don't know, you know, that might affect him a little bit.
SPEAKER_04:Um then you're definitely picking the Patriots because if you're talking about a running back out, what about Bo Next?
SPEAKER_03:Well, I'm not saying that's gonna be the red Kenneth Walker is very suitable to carry the load to me with the Seahawks. That dude's a beast.
SPEAKER_04:Patriots, Patriots and the Seahawks, and I got Seahawks getting their revenge for Marshawn Lynch and that co that coach that ain't one of the things. Yep.
SPEAKER_03:I think it's Pats and Rams. I think the Patriots, yeah, they'll they'll handle their business.
SPEAKER_04:Uh regardless if it's the Patriots versus a few years ago. They played both of them.
SPEAKER_03:It's not having bow nicks, you know.
SPEAKER_02:Well, it'd be crazy if the backup who is the backup anyway, uh Jared Steadham or something like that. He went to Auburn, right?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah. So how much game reps did he, you know what I mean, jumping into a situation like that?
SPEAKER_02:I think he's a he's uh he's a fourth rounder, so I mean he's been there since 2019.
SPEAKER_03:Well, so it's Dak, Kevin. He ain't done shit for us either.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_03:I believe so. But yeah, I think I think Rams and Pats for my and I think the Rams win it. I think ultimately Rams are gonna win the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_04:Are we all picking the Pats automatically because Bo Knicks is gone? So we don't have even though Broncos' defense is beast, too. Like I think you ain't got your starting QB, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:The starting QB Broncos are because the starting quarterback, so I'm riding with Patriots for that one. Me too. I mean, I think Seahawks defense is too good, so they're gonna beat the Rams, and I got I got Seahawks beating the Patriots.
SPEAKER_04:Me too. Y'all riding that Seahawks. You got the Rams beating the Patriots, Tony, or the Patriots beating the Rams?
SPEAKER_03:I got the Rams beating the Patriots.
SPEAKER_04:That's what's up.
SPEAKER_03:Stick with your your preseason pick. I mean, they still there. They still were they had Rams and Bills originally, but you know, it seems like uh my guy, I think it was named the quarterback of the Bills. Can't get over that home. You know, I thought it was really his year, especially not having Mahomes, Josh Allen. Yeah, Josh Allen. It's like, man, you ain't got my homes in your way. Lamar Jackson.
SPEAKER_02:The path was set for him, but uh he had to do his work. And right couldn't do it by itself. Him or the coach. I think the coach, I think they fired the coach right after that, too.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, that's crazy. Because didn't Allen like he the coach ain't turning the ball over. Didn't he throw like two picks in a fumble or something in that game?
SPEAKER_04:Led, like it was on, but they're not firing and cutting Josh Allen, so you know who's going. I just I don't want nobody to be picking up Josh Allen no more because they hate on Lamar for not winning it.
SPEAKER_02:Well, Josh Allen made it either, but Josh Allen's a dog, he is, but he ain't never made it either.
SPEAKER_04:So if they're gonna hate on Lamar for that, then they gotta keep the same energy for Josh. That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02:Josh Allen's better than Jaden Daniels.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, yeah, but I mean he is, but I mean Lamar okay.
SPEAKER_02:I was just making sure we're on the same page.
SPEAKER_04:Right on Lamar for not making it and winning it. I'm like, well, Josh ain't done it either.
SPEAKER_03:Right. Well, there's a lot, it's not easy. I mean, hey, everybody's waiting for Lamar to win one. You know why?
SPEAKER_04:But they'd be criticizing him a lot, but I don't hear all the same scrutiny against Josh Allen.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, Dad could get one next year, so don't worry about it. Yeah, what team he played for next year? You can play for the big bad Dallas Cowboys.
SPEAKER_03:Well, you see, we just hired a new uh defensive coordinator, Kevin.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, from the Eagles, right?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, yeah. So we'll see how that works out. I know because they did good in the playoffs this year. Well, anything's better than Eberflues. I mean, we can't do any worse than we did last year defensively.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, they that's that's that was that was crazy.
SPEAKER_03:That's been our knock, man. Just no deep. We we got offense, plenty of offense for years. We just ain't had a great defense since the game.
SPEAKER_02:We ain't got no secondary and no linebackers, really. No, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Y'all cut Trayvon Diggs.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, we said Diggs was trash. Yeah, digs is gone. Did you know? I think Green Bay, I think Green Bay cut him too.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, after that, they signed him. I think he only played one snap in that playoff game. Yeah, like one snap, then they ended up just releasing him. Like, what was the point? Goodbye.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, man, he's probably tricking it up dating Hennessy, Cardi B's little sister. Hey Tony, you want to you wanna go have some fun with Kev real quick and do the this or that segment?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, that's what I'm about to do. So Kev trying to start a new segment, like kind of like Dream Champions, this or that. So you gotta change between what I ask you. All right, and if you don't, if it's a tie, you're gonna donate five dollars. No, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_01:I was about to say that was idea.
SPEAKER_03:But no. So this or that, Kevin. So what do you got? You got go-go or hip hop? Go go. Oh, all right. I told you, Tony, I knew he would pick go-go.
SPEAKER_02:Come on, Slim. Don't don't do me like that.
SPEAKER_03:That was Chris's question. That's what he wanted. All right, making good or Rihanna.
SPEAKER_01:Megan good. Oh, making good. Megan good got them lips.
SPEAKER_04:Hey Kevin, Tony was like, who is that? I'm like, man, you lunch.
SPEAKER_03:Hey, Chris, this is what we should do. We should ask these questions then because you you're 2-0 right now, but he would answer. Then we have a company we have to donate to our own show. That's fine. All right, Dak or Romo.
SPEAKER_01:Dak.
SPEAKER_03:Dak? Dak. Alright. I mean, I can't argue. I mean, I can't hate on it. Uh MJ or Kobe? Michael Jordan. I know it.
SPEAKER_02:Told you. Michael Jordan.
SPEAKER_04:You're gonna be like it ain't no Kobe without Michael.
SPEAKER_02:Michael Jordan, period.
unknown:All right.
SPEAKER_03:Uh Signetti or Saban. Signetti. I'm rocking on Signetti right there.
SPEAKER_02:I ain't never met Saban.
SPEAKER_03:All right, fried fish or fried chicken?
SPEAKER_02:Fried chicken.
SPEAKER_04:I wasn't sure on that one, but I'm like, maybe the fried fish because I'm a fried chicken man.
SPEAKER_03:All right, Kool-Aid or Tang?
SPEAKER_02:Definitely Kool-Aid. I don't drink nobody's tang. Huh?
SPEAKER_03:Oh, yeah, give me that red Kool-Aid all day. All right, this one might. I don't know where you'll go with this one. All right. Dixon or Totem?
SPEAKER_02:Dixon? I mean Totem's my man. I salute Totin. I like him. But uh I'm I coached. I mean, Dixon's my man. I like Dixon.
SPEAKER_03:Right. He coached it, but I was like, oh, that'd be a good one. Your son's played for Toton, right?
SPEAKER_02:I like I like Tommy Dixon.
SPEAKER_03:We was raised under Tommy, man.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_03:All right, last one. Cart rights or Piccadilly corner store. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_02:That's not even a that's not even a question.
SPEAKER_04:No, I told him he could ask every other establishment in Winchester for Congress.
SPEAKER_02:I know who you picked up. That's not even a question.
SPEAKER_04:Hey, hold on, wink or smoke.
SPEAKER_03:Smoke. Yo, smoke be hitting them gongs, boy. And then last what last question did Dez catch it? Yes. That's what he wanted. You knew he was gonna say that. Yep. Right. I had to. You're a cat. I'm a cowboy fan. Yes.
SPEAKER_02:That was a catch.
SPEAKER_03:That was our Super Bowl year. I'm still mad at that.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I'm still beefing about it. I'm still just I'm that game. That game and the uh state championship, Hanley versus Lake Taylor. I'm still them games are still in my head. I ain't letting them go.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, I hate that. That's Hanley won. I don't care. I got a good one. I got a good one real quick.
SPEAKER_02:That's a whole nother podcast we could talk with, Chris. We're not even gonna do that one.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, yeah. Oh, we get the reps and everything over. Number 88. Number 88. Y'all got C D, you got Des or you got Cocaine Irving.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, 8088. What's our favorite? 88 is what you're asking. Michael Irvin.
SPEAKER_02:Mine's just Michael Irvin.
SPEAKER_03:Right.
SPEAKER_04:That's the remote.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, do whatever you do. Get out there on that field and play that thing.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, hey, look, Lawrence Taylor did the same thing. They was beast.
SPEAKER_03:I mean, Des Bryant was a dog in that aid for a few years. Yeah, but I Mike got three of them things. They nicknamed him the playmaker.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, he was a dog. Right.
SPEAKER_03:It's definitely Michael Irvin, man. Even though Drew Pearson, right, was the first too. But uh I was I was probably in diapers when he was playing, so I don't remember those Emmett Smith or Barry Sanders.
SPEAKER_02:Barry. I'm an Emmett fan, but come on now. You can't disrespect Barry like that.
SPEAKER_04:Look, no lie, that's a that's a real talk right there. Because I ain't mad if you picked Emmett.
SPEAKER_02:Emmett one of the goats, but yeah, I'm a Cowboys fan, but you can't do that. You can't do that to Barry.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, Barry's just on a whole nother level, bro. Like a true running back. Nobody could touch Barry.
